Welcome to Parkway Driving School's Terms and Conditions. Please read these terms carefully as they govern your purchase, access, and use of our services, including Beginner Driver Education (BDE) courses and in-car lessons. Your enrollment signifies your agreement to these terms.

Parkway Driving School — Terms & Conditions

 

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your purchase, access, and use of services offered by Parkway Driving School (“we”, “us”, “our”, “Parkway”) including Beginner Driver Education (BDE) courses, in-car lessons, and related services. By enrolling or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms.

 

1. Definitions

  • “Student” / “You” / “Your” — The person enrolling in services.
  • “Course” — Any BDE course (online and in-car).
  • “Lesson” — Individual in-car driving instruction session.
  • “Package” — A collection of lesson hours sold together.
  • “Online Portion” — The digital theory component of a BDE course.
  • “Access” — Permission granted to enter the online portion or scheduling for lessons.

 

2. Eligibility and Enrollment

2.1 You must be at least 16 years old to enroll in a BDE course.
2.2 You must hold a valid Ontario G1 learner’s license prior to starting any in-car lessons.
2.3 You agree to provide accurate personal information and maintain up-to-date contact details.

 

3. Course Structure and Requirements

3.1 The BDE Course consists of both theory (online) and in-car training in accordance with Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) standards (typically 20 hours online, 10 hours in-car plus homework).
3.2 You must complete all components within 12 months from the date of your access to the online portion. If you fail to complete within this period, you may be required to re-enroll and pay full fees again.

 

4. Access and Scheduling

4.1 Access to the online portion will be provided after enrollment and payment.
4.2 In-car lessons must be scheduled directly with an assigned instructor.
4.3 Lesson times are subject to instructor availability.
4.4 If the school must reschedule due to instructor unavailability, weather, or emergencies, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate you.

 

5. Payments

5.1 All fees are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes.
5.2 Payment must be made in full before access to the online portion or scheduling in-car lessons.
5.3 Payments are processed securely via Stripe or other accepted methods.
5.4 Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of enrollment or inability to schedule lessons.

 

6. Refund & Cancellation Policy

6.1 Full Refund Window

  • You may request a full refund if cancellation occurs at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of your first lesson or before access to the online portion of the BDE course is provided.

6.2 Partial Refund After Online Access

  • If you request a refund after access to the online portion has been given but before any in-car lessons start, you will be eligible for a 60% refund of the course fee.

6.3 No Refund After Lessons Start

  • Once in-car lessons have commenced, no refunds will be provided.

6.4 Expiration of Services

  • All lesson packages and courses must be completed within 12 months of purchase. After this period, unused services expire without refund.

6.5 Refund processing may take up to 10 business days and may exclude fees charged by payment processors.

 

7. Cancellations and No‑Shows

7.1 You must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an in-car lesson.
7.2 Late cancellations or no-shows may result in the loss of the lesson or applicable charges.
7.3 If a lesson is cancelled due to your failure to bring required documentation (e.g., learner’s permit), it may be treated as a no-show.

 

8. Student Conduct & Safety

8.1 You must always behave respectfully toward instructors and staff.
8.2 Unsafe, aggressive, or abusive behavior may result in termination of enrollment without refund.
8.3 Use of alcohol or drugs before or during lessons is strictly prohibited.
8.4 You must comply with all traffic and safety instructions provided by instructors.

 

9. Liability and Release

9.1 Driving instruction involves inherent risks.
9.2 You agree to follow all instructor guidance and applicable laws.
9.3 Parkway Driving School, its instructors, employees, and affiliates are not liable for personal injury, damage, or loss except where required by law.
9.4 You are responsible for any fines, penalties, or damages arising from your actions during lessons.

 

10. Certification

10.1 Completion of the BDE course does not guarantee passing a road test.
10.2 Certification will be processed through the Ministry of Transportation Ontario’s driver education system upon successful completion of all course requirements.

 

11. Privacy & Communication

11.1 Personal information is collected for enrollment, communication, and certification purposes.
11.2 Information will not be shared without consent except as required by regulatory bodies (e.g., MTO).
11.3 You consent to receive communications by email, phone, or text.

 

12. Changes to Terms

12.1 Parkway may update these Terms at any time.
12.2 The latest Terms will be posted on the website.
12.3 Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

 

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
